There exists in every man, the responsibility to be a gentleman and to live as such. In my life, I gravitate to time honored traditions of gentlemen. We drink, we build things, we explore, we are comfortable with ourselves, we band together. Wherever we are together, there is a feeling of kinship, and closeness to a group of people, a brotherhood. And for that reason, my friends, we are never alone.
My name is Bryan Landaburu and I built this website around my personal passions and the objects, places, and people I find interesting, beautiful and inspirational. If the mood strikes you, share your thoughts, and always feel welcome. Cheers to friends, new and old.
Projects past, present and future give a glimpse into my hobbies. Craftsmanship is the binding element of every one of these projects.
I walk with a camera because photographs give me an opportunity to reflect on where I've been, the people I've met, experiences I treasure.
My perspectives and passions outlined in words. Writing is a diversion for me, it is at times, a chore, but also some of my most creative work.
I shoot a mix of visible & invisible objects I encounter in my travels. Most photos taken with my Canon 60D, Sony DSC-RX100, or trusty iPhone + Moment lenses.

To say I am a 'visual person' would be a gross understatement. There is something powerful about the stories that photos tell. I use this space as a place to share images of my travels, my different projects, cocktails, and events I attend. I place a strong emphasis on capturing unique perspectives and not following any rules of photography.
You will find signature galleries in the Photography drop-down menu. These would be considered the images I am most proud of. In the Blog you will also find photos and galleries with stories wrapped around them.
The photos I publish on ShiftCraft have a distinct focus and style. I love to shoot outdoors using natural light, typically with very little orchestration or setup...pretty much capture what is there, accurately.
I am happy to help others with questions about equipment, lenses, etc. If you ever come across an image I've taken of something of yours, I am ALWAYS happy to share my original files. Just ask. That said, I'm NOT cool with people using my images without my permission so I ask that before using any images on this website, kindly request permission first.

This bare metal café bike has been with me for several years and like my wife, never loses its beauty, style, and desirability. Every once in a while you stumble upon something special. This little bike sat in a basement time capsule for 20+ years before I picked it up on eBay with a mere 1,600 original miles. I enjoyed breathing new life into this brand-new, 40-year-old bike. It recently sold to its new owner in San Francisco. Learn more...
